Michael: Guten Tag!
Jana: Hallo Michael, schön dich zu sehen.
Michael: Du vermisst mich so sehr? Danke, ich mag Komplimente.
Jana: Haha, sehr witzig! But this is a direct import of “nice to see you.” Viele Deutsche mögen das nicht, aber es wird ein Trend.
Michael: Ich bin trendy, danke! Also, was machen wir heute?
Jana: Oh super, das ist die perfekte Frage! And as a side note, we will talk about die Endung von Adjektiven, adjective endings matching their nouns, in Lesson 11. The noun die Frage is feminine, so perfekt becomes perfekte.
Michael: Perfekte Frage! Okay, und jetzt?
Jana: Well, last time, we talked about Ja und Nein-Fragen, and this time we have W-Fragen. Diese Fragen fangen mit W an. These questions allow us to ask open-ended questions. The English equivalent would be “Wh-Questions.”
Michael: Okay! Ich habe eine gute Frage. Das deutsche Äquivalent für “what” ist was. Jana, was machst du?
